A Bit of Pinnacles History - RIP

"Infamous" is the right word, but it's still kinda sad to see that Jonathan Richards has died. And sadder still to see the circumstances under which he passed:

Ironically, Phyllis and I spent that same night a few blocks from where he died. It was a Holiday date night. We spoke to some homeless men at about seven near the wharf. Was one of them Jonathan? I'll never know.

I am saddened to hear about Jonathon Richards.  In the end he was a Pinnacles Climber and part of the history.  For me part of the draw to climbing was the endless list of colorful characters.  The Pins has had and has it share.  In the end Jonathan left behind three really good routes; Peon’s Delight, Mission Impossible and Costanoan.

May you rest in peace.

This is a bit late but

Yup, very sad.

And man it's been cold in Monterey this winter.
I shutter at the thought of being outside at night with little clothing.
I'm not worthy.
