well, no david today. checking my emails. somethings not right.

ION, saw the two guys, presumably, who got rescued. There were two guys retrieving fixed lines from off the top of machete. The lines looked doubled like a rap to the area above Gary and Phyllis headwall/Bills Bad Bolts.  One looked shorter than the other. Like they rapped to the end of the ropes and short end had to come thru the device but by then it was above them and unable to pull the cord thru. The cord thus being stuck because the the other end would be pulling on the knot.  Stuck and benighted.  If it was the two guys I met on the trail, they didn't mention their objective. However the two guys I yelled up to I asked "Hey are you guys going to get those fixed lines?"  the response "Yes, those are ours."

anyways, interesting event.

met some folks and I TR'd two new recorded lines on Machete on a fixed line. more info in separate post.

Got a late start but still got 3 abs just before dark.  Only one mild oh shit moment when my foot got caught up in my anchor line and the anchor was, uh well, anchored leaving me about 10 feet short of my air supply.  A nice wave was pulling me away from the anchor which kept the rope nice and tight.  But alas, I thougt of my lovely wife sitting calmly above on a nice perch reading a book and just reached down and pulled off my fin slid my foot out and up I went.  Turns out the anchor was in a crack wedged between two abalone that were both two small to take.

Beautiful sunset
