MoM and PCAD
« on: April 03, 2016, 12:26:05 PM »
Larry is supposed to be coming to the MoM weekend to talk about the PCAD.
I took some pics of various observations during my last few trips down.
There are a number of trees down on approach trails.

Friday I saw two - this one below Twisted Sister

And this one across the new trail we cut in at Upper Crust.

The thing that disturbed me was the shortcutting of the newly created upper trail we worked so hard on at the PCAD last year. We piled brush along the old trail to keep people from using it - but people are clearly still using it and the footprints were really deep in fragile soft soil.

There was also some pretty serious water erosion under the new log steps we installed - not surprising given all the rain this year.

This was equally disturbing up at Scout Peak yesterday.

I guess it could be worse. He could have scratched it into the rock.
