CCH Alien Recall
« on: January 13, 2006, 05:15:41 PM »
I'm starting a new thread because I thought the information was somewhat important. But then I'm not sure if this matters as much to those of you experienced hardcore climbers on this forum whose rack is as old as DES as to us newbies whose rack is as young as me. (I bought my entire rack in May 2005.) Anyhow, here is the scoop if you haven't been wasting your time on rc.com:

P.S. I just noticed the typos but forgot how to use the editing feature. Please  replace "DES" with "DES's" and "me" with "mine" where you see fit.

P.P.S. And stop editing my post.  You know who you are.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Among the dozen CCH aliens I bought in May 2005, none is dimpled. Am I special.

Not necessarily a good thing though.

Oh, and as far as pinns, some maintenance would be good, but mostly climbing, but at Marmot rocks. Check bolt counts and anchors.

Bout damn time CCH got off their ass and posted a recall.  Things werent looking good given that original response over at rc.com.

Bummer about the hybrids, munge.  Are they going to replace them for ya?

Munge we need to finish the project on Muchshitty Ridge.  Also when Bruce H. loaned me a wrench and hangers for bolting we ended up talking about the anchor situation up there and he agreed that mess needs to be cleaned up.  One anchor to replace the current three.

more specific please

there are the Redline anchors (new and appropriate position and should not be pulled)

there are the anchors on top of Gary and Phyllis Headwall.

Where's the third? above those in the same streak?

Next time up there I will show you.  I think one other set is the ones below bills bad bolts or something and the other is an unclimbed streak.
