How many weekends climbing at Pinns in 2008?
« on: February 17, 2009, 12:17:43 AM »
A lowly 5.  Sad.  But with so much good granite drying early and staying dry late due to global warming, well, hard to say no to it with my newly refound appreciation for wide and cracks.

Not enough.  Will get in a couple more.  Slow season.

Have done a lot more biking this year plus work has me tied down.

It has been fun watching mudworm become a contender on the bike.

At least 15-day trips, I like to finish off a j-tree trip on the way home by hitting pinnacles for at least 2 days.  Around 8 weekenders or longer, more now having found a good bivy near the west side!

Since a bro scouted it out not myself I can't turn the whole "Mud CRew" Onto it but I would be happy to hand out (In Person) a detailed Topo of the approach to the "Stealth Bivy".  I can say it is off of the Arro Seco? exit just South of Pinnacles.  Roughly 8.5 miles East of the exit.  I stress "Stealth" due to insufficient cover for large vehicles!  Yet close and comfy for those overnights!.  Pretty much anything off of Arro SEco is fair game, this one is good B/C I believe it is not private property! Don't hold me to it!

P.S. you have to climb at pinnacles to enjoy the bivy! So no more "Oh sadly only once" Remember to train hard during Granite season so you can hit the Pinns hard in the winter!
Pace,

Shit I couldn't count. So many weekend days spend there during Jan to April. Sadly, the fall was practcically zero. I think once at least with Landsnark to do Son of Dawn Wall.

I like the nice bivy in Sunnyvale. I get there, dinner is waiting and if I want I can jump in the hot tub.
I'm not worthy.
