Low Snow
« on: December 07, 2009, 07:43:11 AM »
Obviously snowing here, but also all the way down to Oakdale. Schools are closed all over, even the elementary schools in Jamestown and Chinese Camp!

Any down low in the Bay Area? Might be a cool day to be at Pinns.

All schools are now closed in both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. Power's starting to flicker....

Up in the Concord area snow level was down to the Freeway.  There was not a lot of it and the roads were dry.

Chain line on Highway 108 is at its junction with J 59. That's 8 miles below Jamestown.

WOW!!! Time to fill the tank on the snow blower. Forecast is for 3-6 inches down to 1500ft! Makes me think of the time I used the snowshoes into Castle for a boulder sesh...brutal.

So with the girl's schools closed, and radio reports of stuck and spun out vehicles all over the county, I played boss and rescheduled all my appointments. And stayed home. My mom, who had come up to watch the girls while we were at Inn at the Pinnacles, is stranded with us.

So what else to do? Well, we started by torching off the burn piles that have been waiting since May:

Then, this afternoon it took 4 of us 2 hours to clear the driveway. And this was little Charlotte's first snow:
