I just read about the earthquake in japan and the damage along the west coast.

insane amount of damage

both of the folks from our teams are ok, but unable to get home, so they are stuck in the office.

Santa Cruz got tossed. 2' amplitude I think.  boats in the harbor getting bashed.

crazy.  our friends parents live along that part of the coast in japan.  it will be a long few days for them until they can establish some type of communication.

talked to one of our people on IM yesterday. she's doing pretty good and is near Tokyo, and has plans to move south with family as needed. She says there is a sense that the food issue is expected to improve because there is food in warehouses, it's just getting it to market in some cases.

But with that said, the redcross or other orgs can always use support.

I like the latest idea they have been floating.  Covering the entire mess in sand then encasing in cement.
