Had a fun day today albeit chilly when the sun kept going behind the clouds. I onsighted The Lamb today and also took a look at the Wolf - looks good Josh - I'll have to go back and do it soon.
The topo lists so-so slung knobs on the Lamb - here is one of them - barely accomodates a 4 foot runner with slip knot.
Haven't slung anything this big since I was on Lichen to Lead!

The lone bolt is a joke as far as doing anything but keeping you from going all the way to the creek.
It might be meaningful to catch a fall as you move past it - if you were two feet tall - don't know why it's located there!
I had my pick of choice knobs to sling on the way up - I slung 3 just for fun and practice.
I belayed from the top of The Wolf so I could keep an eye on KC AND I knew the hardware was bomber.
We scrambled over and checked out the majority of the approach for Hummingbird - we'll be going back there soon.
Talked to some nice folks from the SLO area in the parking lot - Mark and Amy from Recycle Resoles. We gave them some recs for the High Peaks and their 16 year old son (Mickey) was heading off with his buddy to do Machete Direct!
Also met Jake and Audrey Miller and their kids over by The Shepherd.
We took a quick romp along Walk The Plank and would have repeated Overboard as well if it hadn't been so chilly.
KC wanted to get her lead on but her head just wasn't in it. There had been an accident with a hiker (slip and fall) at the entrance to the caves and I think seeing that lady being carried out on a stretcher freaked KC out.
We didn't see much - only that she was conscious and had a cheek laceration.
Mark and Amy came up to Chockstone to wait for the boys about the time we were wrapping things up.
They ended up mostly hiking and climbed The Cone along the way. It was their first time in the High Peaks.
The boys came along after a few minutes and said they had a blast on Machete Direct.
We talked to Jake and Audrey again on the way out. They had set up a toprope on the big boulder in front of The Shepherd.
I couldn't resist taking a free solo run up Big Bad West in my relatively new 5.10 Camp Fours.
Fun day. Good weekend.
