I got my Torker LX 26" for $120 new. Try looking at garage sales or flea markets for a 20 or 24 inch wheel - good to get you back at it and then you can peruse the stock on Unicycle.com
Mountain uni enthusiasts tell me a 24" is the best for technical and single track and for a cruiser the 36" wins hands down.

So for road and fire road the bigger tire is the way to go?  what about a 29er uni?

Is it more difficult to turn the with the larger tires and what about going up hill?

bigger is better but not for learning or relearning. you have to master the free mount before trying the big wheel and it is a whole lot more angular momentum. my mentor says the 29 sucks - geometry is all wrong.

smaller turns quicker just like skis. uphill/downhill is a whole new skill set. start with gentle grades and work your way up. always something new to learn and keep you hooked.
