Looking for partner(s)?
« on: May 18, 2023, 09:26:43 AM »
Just heard of this site when I ran into 2 other climbers in the Chaparral parking lot and we were talking about raptor closure for Lava Falls (thanks for the info!).  I am a longtime climber and used to do a lot of trad/sport climbing. It’s been mostly bouldering/gym though the last few years (family, work, etc) with roped outings.  My current outdoor partner  (18 y/o son) heading off to college this fall - leaving me solo. I figured this would be a good place to see if there is anyone else looking for climbing partner(s). Can give specs on experience offline (and contact info - of course) if interested, but in general I am just happy to be on the wall. At my age (57), grade is less important than the climb.  if I am outside - it’s all good  😉.

Am free on Thursdays for anyone interested in mid-week climbing.

Thanks!

Peter

Hey Peter!
Sadly, I'm rarely free on Thursdays at the moment. But glad to make your acquaintance. The forum's a great place to meet other Pinns climbers. It's a tight group.

Thanks for the reply!

Just looked at original post and realized it wasn’t clear. Am available on weekends also 😉. Meant to put Thursday out as a less crowded option.

Hi Peter. We're running out of Pinnacles season here. Are you looking only for Pinnacles partners or for people to climb with in other areas too? If "other areas too" in answer to the second question, what other areas and where do you live?

I live in Salinas and am definitely open to and interested in other areas as well - especially when it’s HOT at Pinnacles.  I’ve climbed around  around Donner Pass, Castle Rock, Yosemite (not enough), Bishop’s Peak as well as Joshua Tree and Red Rocks (not in the summer 🤪).  I am up for a day/weekend trip to anyplace within reach.  I can follow 5.10 (depending in the route), and have led up to 5.9 (sport, trad definitely less 😉).  Not looking to kill it, just looking get out more.  My son is heading to Cal Poly next year and we climbed at Bishops peak  when we went to see the campus. Would love to go back and get more routes in there as well this summer if not too hot.
