Spring Cranking Apr 20th
« on: April 21, 2008, 06:55:20 AM »
Well, since other folks were busy...I figured I had to do my part.

Yestday was perfect for cranking. The rock was warm, yet the air temps were pleasant.

Wet Kiss -Lead
Big Pucker -TR
Buffalo Soldier -Lead
Coyote Ugly -Lead
Cantalope Death -Lead
Pick Pocket -TR (I'll lead it next time)

Buffalo Soldier was fun. The moves were not bad, you just had to keep moving. Mr. Mud's beta was right on for the 10c crux. The 10D wasn't bad, I just kept moving to the next bolt and didn't look down.
Cams: #2 Camalot(didn't have), #1 Camalot, .75 Camalot & Orange Alien.

Got to watch a guy crank Ranger Bolts. Pretty cool seeing him stick the 13 crux.
I'm not worthy.

The humor of the day was some father commenting that he thought I was doing a 5.8! WTF!

Yes, like many others he had the purple guidebook and were a bit confused.

Seriously, someone MIGHT have to stamp or leave a stamped note fixed to the top anchors noting which route they are for. Clueless, they are!

Nice work F4b!

One day I'll get my ass back outside. 3 weeks straight without a day off. 70 hrs/wk easy. Going to Maui for 6 days this week (no climbing though  >:( ) so hopefully I'll get some relaxation. Transitioning to a new position in June which should hopefully lighten the load. May is still going to suck ass though. I'll be lucky if I can climb a ladder by Memorial Day.

Munge - if you are trolling, I'll try to take a long weekend while you are in the Valley.
