That Canon takes good clear images.  How many MPs?  What kind of lense?

That was Erik's Olympus Ultrazoom C-770.

I've been more and more impressed with it. Since I returned the Panasonic ultracompact, I've bought a Canon SD870IS. It got good reviews. Pics look okay until you put them next to those from Olympus. Oh well, I'm keeping it just because I can take it with me everywhere.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

There are lots of factors that go into picture quality camera settings, file format, sensors. It's hard to beat the glass on the Oly to a smaller sub compact. DSLR is nicer, but then you have to tweak the image to get the colors right.
