Fixed ropes on Cuidado!?
« on: April 07, 2009, 11:54:33 AM »
They have been up there for at least a month.  Fixed from what I think is pitch 4 belay.  Weird thing is they  don't touch the ground, The blue rope is swinging around the first belay, and the red rope is snaked out to the left apparently through some pro at spots.  Did someone bail? Project?  The ropes are tied together but the red rope is attached to the anchor with 80+ feet of tail (snaked to the left). Pretty weird set up nonetheless, wonder how they got down from the pitch one traverse?

After reading Joe's post in o8? about the pitch 5 rappel being problematic, I am pretty sure those ropes are just stuck.  Dropping in from the top sounds like the best plan.  Never been to that part of the summit, Is it possible to lower straight down on a fixed line from the summit anchors?
