Just figured that I would start the 2006 quotes thread.

Here is a real gem

" The Enduro Pitch is a sport climb."

Here is one more

" Pain is good."
I'm who i am.

"More and more, I'm convinced that wearing a helmet is a good idea."

- "Nah, helmets are for sport climbers."

"Brad wears a helmet..."

- "Yeah, but Brad is a wanna-be sport climber."

 :D
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Mr Mud, about to launch out on a loose, rediscovered Pinnacles obscurity: "Brad, maybe I could borrow your helmet?"

Ahhh, here is more:

"Hey, you can't take pictures of me wearing a helmet. That'll ruin my reputation!"

This conversation happened beneath a roof where "some kind of bird  spends some time up there and likes to puke-shit mouse remains down onto the route."  I had to force a helmet on him because I could not stand the thought of a mouse corpse on his head.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Brad, I know you made up that quote. Here is why:

While putting Brad's helmet on Mr Mud's head, I felt unsure.  Looking at Brad who was 70 feet away, I asked, "Do we need permission from Brad for using his helmet?"

"Nah. You don't need permission from Brad for anything."  :)
Inch by inch, I will get there.

I didn't make it up. he wore the helmet on both / all three of his efforts on the climb. He asked me specifically before one of the attempts. Post the photos!

It is true I wanted the helmet to keep dead mouse parts from falling on my head.  Had one near miss at the base.  Did not want to get up into that gaping crack and have some bird crap puke on my head.  Was not worried about getting that on the helmet.
I'm who i am.

Hey, mister, taking words out of context is cruel!

So Mr Mud and Uber were having a self-motivational conversation telling themselves and each other that many top level climbers were not tall.  One made a comment that even though Layton Kor always seemed big like a tower in photos, he was actually no more than 5'10".  That's when I made the above explanation to the confused boys.  It only takes a woman's eye to see the truth.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Hoho, don't you expect me to tell the context for that one  :)

Not that it'll ruin Mr Mud's reputation or anything.

Climbing it isn't a job it's an obsession.

This came from a guy that once climbed around 300 days one year.  Yes on rock.
