2009 Low Key Hill Climbs
« on: September 25, 2009, 01:21:11 PM »
So who's doing what? I'm thinking of volunteering at a couple to get some free entries... I'll be out of town on October 3 (FC 508) and October 17 (my brother's wedding)... Team Mud n' Crud won't be short of representation at the rides I show up for...  ;)

I'm having way too much fun on my mountain bike, so Low Key has to take the back seat. But I might hit a couple of them. Will not be strong though because I haven't done any road riding at all lately, let alone climbing.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Can't do this weekend... I'll be doing a double century out of Clovis. So I'll be cruising the Central Valley and the Sierra foothills.  :P

Woot! Old La Honda is behind us now. Didn't do too bad, 21:48 on my GPS (bridge to stop sign). Only beat my PR by 2 seconds, but I definitely felt more spent after the ride than last time.  The race atmosphere just doesn't do much for me, it seems. (The website has me for 21:53.)

Krishna came out today and rode a stunning 17:09!!! He put down category "Unreformed Mt Biker". I should have thought of that (instead of my boring 35+)! I also ran into a few other acquaintances (through Low Key last year). When I told Janet (the women's 1st place today) that I had been mostly mountain biking, she said, "ahhh... cross training!" That statement made me laugh because I never saw it that way. After topping out, I went for a fun mountain bike ride -- cross training -- at Skeggs.
