On the summit of Temple Crag with Dave Harden:

One of my favorite climbing stories occurred on this summit on this trip. Dave and I climbed pretty hard on Dark Star. Packed in the night before and got on the route at first light. We did around 35 pitches up to 5.10b and were on the top with plenty of light left. We felt pretty bad-ass. But the summit register contained an entry by another climber: "I left the car this morning and climbed Dark Star. I've got to get down now, the clouds are building even though it's only 10:15 in the morning. Peter Croft." We were bad-ass indeed!

Enjoyed the photos and I love that story in the end.  It made me laugh.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

The least he could do would be to leave a beer or 6 up there. You'd think!

I had a huge batch scanned this time, hundreds more to sort and load up. I'll post a few of the best as I get to them. Meanwhile, the rest of you, up with some old stuff!

Gee, climbing pics dated back to 1995!? I have nothing to compete with that. But I also have Incredible Hulk pics from 4 years ago -- that's "back in the day" for me.

I got the best pitches on Red Dihedral.

And also had a Hulk birth

Back then, Mud and I were not even dating yet. So, after dinner before dark with some time to kill, we sat on a rock together (with the Hulk in sight and with a respectable distance between us). I read a book out loud and he just listened. Romantic in a non-romantic kinda way. Now that I think about it, I have not read Mr. Mud bed time stories again since.  :D

Calling Landshark, did you ever scan your old pics in?
Landshark used to have a cheezy slideshow that he would do at REI..sans Ama Dablam pics.

I might have to post up them Denali pics.

Picture Peak got its name because of its location in the background behind Hungry Packer Lake. It was always in the background of beautiful pictures of the lake (see the above photo, it's an example). Here's the reverse shot - Hungry Packer Lake from Picture Peak:

Oh, and I have to comment about the photos of the Red Dihedral crux pitch. Three photos taken in two different ways, "flat" toward one wall of the corner or another. Interesting.

I gotta repeat this one photo from Ruby Wall:

Look at the fresh "tracks" in the glacial snow below. As we were doing the approach three VW bus size chunks calved off from up high and thundered down to the glacier. Rock was pounding everywhere. Dave and I were in the left "tongue" of talus when this happened (left looking down, like the photo). One chunk, about the size and shape of a truck tire came tumbling and cartwheeling toward us (its track can be seen). It slowly lost momentum and fell over just 50 or 100 feet from us.

Biggest, baddest rockfall I've ever seen.

Very nice Pix, I gotta go do some of that alpine stuff huh?

I am going to dig up some Skull pix, had a bunch of good ones.   I notice you got SQ when that rivet ladder WAS a Rivet ladder!

Okay Brad, here are a few of our Denali Trip, not as exciting as Jim Mc's, but some thing....(most are Landshark's photos)

Me and Pat in a ground squall on a carry from 11k to 14k

Landshark posing it up at 14k camp

Are we on route?? Taking a rest at the famous fixed ropes on the West But....perfect summit weather, but we are still far from it.

Pat and Jake topping out on the Fixed ropes at 15k

Me on the ridge heading to the 17k camp. I was totally spent by this time and yah, you didn't want to trip right here....

I just found these from a '99 trip to the Tetons with my bro. I had wanted to do the Black Ice & Exum with him....we ended up on the Owen Spaulding (can't remember why).

A priceless one of me (I think) taking a crap with the best view in the world at the Teton lower saddle camp.
http://Me at camp....

Pat on the Owen Spaulding route. Usually 5.6 (I had soloed it before), but this time it was covered in verglass! It made it a whole new route.
