Video coming soon...

Arghhh...well I would have had video tonight, but my new "awesome" computer has turned out to be total shite. Since I unpacked it a few weeks ago, it has crashed on me about 70% of the time. I finally contacted HP support via chat tonight and after wasting a couple of hours, I had to do a system recovery per their instructions. After the recovery, I ran a system test to verify everything was ok and it crashed again - to the point where I had to run system recovery again to get it to boot properly. I spent another hour on chat...mostly to just re-explain what happened and to be told that my computer is definitely fucked and needs to have parts replaced (yeah, no shit).

The thing that I love is that the chat said that the tech support reps names were "Tom", "Paul", and "Albert"...but based on their responses (especially certain phrases) I could tell these guys were in India - I understand why HP does this, but jeezus that's got to be demeaning, no? "Sorry, Deepak, you will now be known as Paul. Please do not use your real name otherwise Americans will hate you."

Freaking sorry ass state of affairs when there is ZERO quality in products these days. When Toyota has to have a recall, you know everything has gone to hell.

And, you Apple fans, before you pipe up, let me just say one word: "iTunes", not to mention the new 27" iMac.

Please disregard previous rant... :-[

Amazing what happens when you actually speak to a live person (in roughly your own time zone). Turns out one of the memory cards was just slightly loose...I glanced at them and did the quick press down when I was having issues originally. Everything seemed OK, but it turns out I didn't get the one that was just off a gnats ass off of slightly. The tech on the phone said that the new chips are touchy...

Sure enough after making sure each one was in place, I passed all of the diagnostic tests (it kept crashing before on the memory test - WHICH I told the morons on chat the night before and they were convinced it was a "hard drive" issue).

Unfortunately, videos are still going to have to wait...got work to catch-up on tonight :(

Why, oh, why did you buy an HP laptop? Did you get it at CostCo??

I think that was your 1st mistake.

I've had Dell, HP and Toshibas.

Toshibas suck earthly hell.

Dell, meh, mine was old, but built like a rock. Still runs win98, but I don't use it. super slow.

HPs for last two work machines. pretty good. driver support for migration to win7 was weak, but now I'm able to print to a usb local printer.

haven't babied mine, and no issues so far. been 3+ years.

The video...let me know if this works.

Definitely not work-safe...and should rightfully be played at full volume and resolution! :)

Oh and yeah, at around 7:14, I pull a Tyler Durden. You won't see it, but somehow you will feel slightly off for the rest of the day.  >:D

Nothing wrong with the motherboard. It actually processed the video pretty quick (although loading it to photoshop.com took time which was a bandwidth thing). I didn't have the patience to run image stabilization on the whole thing (which still probably would have been pretty quick on this computer, I'm just too ADD).

And the rock ain't skanky, just covered in moss. Most of the loose shit was down low and has been pretty well cleaned off now. The rock gets more solid the higher you go up.

WTF??? No falling, no blood? Shit you could have spliced in a naked chick or something to make it interesting.

I did actually, but only in 1 frame. At 30 fps (and then compressed), you won't see it (and very doubtful you'll get the player control to stop exactly on the spot), but it is in there in honor of Tyler Durden (and Chuck Palahniuk).  >:D
