Deforestation?
« on: February 23, 2011, 07:59:05 AM »
So I went up there a few weeks ago and saw that a completely new hold had formed on Deforestation.  There is a new small edge about 8 inches before the rounded crimp line you go to with your right hand.  I could grab the new edge readjust and then reach static to the hold I used to have to full on throw for.  But for some reason i could do the pull through to the finger lock.  And as usual the first crimp seems to have been lowered again, which happens every winter.

Anybody done it since its broken, it seems a whole lot easier? But judging by the amount of pine needles on and in the final two holds, it didn't look like anybody had gotten it. I'd say it should be downgraded from v7 to v6.

pics?

not that I can send DF, but I'm always curious about how holds change at CRSP

I may have some images from a few years back that we can compare it to.

These are all the now departed and newly formed holds that I remember on Deforestation.
Red lines show the location of broken holds.

F4 posting, I would have thought you'd suggest bolting them on.

Just went by there yesterday. I would say the grade is back to "hard" once again. A key right foothold has been severed from the wall sometime in the last month. The name should be changed to Deforestation aka Exfoliation.  The whole park is having a pretty hard time drying out from the last storms.
