By the way, I was in REI not to long ago and they are carring the New Pinnacles guide (versus the purple).

REI mtn view usually has one in stock. Have had them in stock for many many months. Actually it was the first retailer I saw it in.

Squiddo, you're crazy on two counts:

1. Relax? While my 15 1/2 year old is driving? Clearly a mere six months of fatherhood has not given you the insights necessary to understanding this problem. I will be totally white-knuckled;

Oh, and on REI and the book: they buy only from their own approved distributors. I'd been selling to one such who was selling to REI, who was retailing them. Then the distributor went bankrupt. So, I won't be paid for two whole boxes of books (their obligation to pay is wiped out by the bankruptcy). Also, I've been contacted by another distributor, but have no idea whether they'll order any or not.

I really want to try for a 20+ pitch day down in the canyon. (they won't all be 10s or 11s but it would fun climbing)

Yeah, but it wasn't REI, it was the distributor they buy through, so REI is shielded. Anyway that's sometimes how it goes when you're a high roller like me. At least it wasn't me going bankrupt!
