Details? Clean up from what? (I mean, really, are we supposed to know what you've been up to by osmosis?? ;)  ).

Yes you are.

Framing and blocking mostly.  Plus a bit of de-construction.

Getting to know my other hammer.

Remodel is not done.  but progress has been made.

Vacation/Anniversary. Beach or Crawl Space?
« Reply #7 on: September 14, 2011, 09:41:41 PM »
I just uploaded the photos. Came here to start a thread and saw that Mud already started one.

I already booked the tickets to San Diego for this past weekend. Thought we could use some relaxing on some warm beaches for our anniversary. That's what it took for Mud to arrange days off at work.

The previous weekend (Labor Day weekend), after Jim finished helping us frame a partition wall (for the wine glass cabinet), Mud and I sat on the kitchen floor (no other place to sit unless in the bedroom), looked around us, and decided that staying home blocking in the crawl space, nailing, and framing could be just as fun as hanging out on the beach. So, that's what we did. Saying "we" was generalization. When I picked up the framing hammer to nail the first stud, I hit my thumb straight on. That was the end of me nailing. I did quite some cutting though. I vibe better with power tools. More Power!

Our neighbor Ted came over to help and ended up working along side for all afternoon. Actually, being on a construction team, he was the leader of the crew. Under his guidance, we framed a indestructible partition wall.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Just like on a warm beach.

Wine glass cabinet goes in here.

The wall evolves.

Inch by inch, I will get there.
