Had to post something.  I am loosing my mind with all this work crap.  two more weeks to get through this move.  Jury duty tomorrow.  If they do not let me go I'm screwed.  To many loose ends.

Finally tracked down the head Electrician and he is supposed to power up the new Data Center tomorrow (It was supposed to be up last Friday).  I have one rack setup. Really need to vacuum under the raised floor. The electrician did not mark where all the drops are.  friggin mess.  PDU's are in but not hooked up, KVM's have not arrived. Have to take old cabinets apart to scavenge parts.   The new UNIX guy hasn't rebooted any of his machines and this was supposed to be done last weekend. Need to re-layout a bunch of cabinets.

Just finished lunch. Need to finish up my regular work.

just a couple more weeks. Two more weekends.

Well we completed the move and we got the last of the big boxes on line today.  Two power supply failures on major boxes.  Only had one real confrontation during the move.  Will have to have a offline meeting about that.  One person on the team does not want to be part of the team.  He is either in or out. 

Kind of surprising how sometimes you think someone is not real good at what they do then you really get to work with them and you realize just how much you have to learn from them because they are actually quite good at what they do.  It also surprised me that sometimes the best person on the team is not the most technical person.

Was a good learning experience.  Still a fair amount of cleanup work to do.

Lessons learned.  Prepare, prepare, prepare.  Do lots and lots of homework.  Cuz test day can be a bitch.
