Pinnacles stoires, photos and videos
« on: June 15, 2012, 10:30:20 AM »
The last few months or so has been a busy time at Pinnacles for me. I've been working on shooting some photos, climbing a few routes and guiding friends around the park. I'd love to post it in all its glory on Mud N Crud but I'm feeling like just giving a link to the web blog I've started that already has all the Pinns content. No idea where it is going but the last three post involve some sort of Pinnacles content.

I clicked on the link thinking I'd glance at it and ended up reading your entire entry until it left Pinnacles. Well written. You seem to have Pinnacles in your blood (my sympathy ;D). Did you do the second pitch of Conduit? It's worth doing.

that's a freakin' amazing shot of Val on Cuidado. you guys are climbing at a level i can't even comprehend. video is cool too.

in other news elcapreport.com Hans Florine and Alex Honnold are going for the nose record sunday at 6:30 am.

the Queen of Crud and her entourage are due back any day now from their first real foray into the sierra so we better be getting a full TR on that!

me? just goin' out to get on the sharp end on the West Side tomorrow.

look for the guy in the orange shirt and orange helmet - the hummingbirds seem to dig it...

Your photo's are really good.  The vidoe quality is is quite good also.  What kind of camera.  I am still super impressed with the clarity of your pics, really nice.

The photograph of Val on Cuidado is mine. It's shot with a Canon 40D and a 50mm 1.4. I used to shoot professionally but decided my dedication would be better suited in climbing, so I left on lousy paying career for a even less paying career.

The video however is by Nic Coury of the Monterey County Weekly and he shoots will a quiver of Nikon cameras and lenses. I think he mostly used a lower end pro-sumer body on the videos. I'm not up on all the new cameras.

Anyways I thought Nic's video was quite good given how little he had to work with. Cuidado lends itself to being shot easily. I was pretty psyched with the turn out of my photo. It definitely became what I imagined. That dosn't happen often.

Second pitch of Conduit: I did not do it. Although I know it's probably pretty good, we ended up calling after the first pitch. I have no excuses except that eventually I get to go back up there. Which I'm always psyched about. Regardless of how scared I am.

Is the route cleaning up??

See Squiddo, that neon lime green rope of yours would be perfect!
