Join the AAC Sierra Nevada Section for the
Pinecrest Climb-In: September 8-9, 2011
A yearly event for AAC members and their guests, the Pinecrest Climb-In takes place on the Gianelli Edges -- granite crags 3,000 feet above Pinecrest Lake, California. Pinecrest itself is 30 miles east of Sonora. As in past years, we will arrange campsites for the group at Pinecrest Campground.
The climbing on Saturday is followed by an open house at the Robbins’s cabin for refreshments, meeting old friends and making new ones. Liz, Royal and Tom Frost will be there to greet you.
COST:
Camping: $20 per person if AAC member/$25 per person if not AAC member. This covers two night’s camping plus party. We will reserve and pay for the campsites.
If not camping: $10 per person if AAC member/$15 per person if not AAC member, to help pay for BBQ.
NOTE – Any money received in excess of our cost will be donated to the Sierra Nevada Section to be added to a fund for Search and Rescue teams. So, thank you for coming to the Climb-In and thank you for helping heroic SAR teams.
RESERVATIONS, PAYMENT, AAC RELEASE
To reserve your attendance and to properly plan for the amount of camping spots, food and beverage needed, we require advance payment for the event. RSVP and send payment to Karen Zazzi.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
We climb at the Edges most of Saturday and later meet at the Robbins’ cabin for BBQ and socializing from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. On Sunday most of us will return to the Edges for a day of climbing. Others may seek out crags in the Highway 108 corridor. Check out the possibilities in Brad Young’s guidebook, “A Climber’s Guide To The Sonora Pass Highway,” or log onto sonorapassclimbing.com.
