Where to eat?
« on: May 15, 2006, 10:20:40 PM »
OK, I was asked this question the other night at the gym and I don't have a good answer. Where are the good eats now when heading home from the East side of the Pinns? Is there anything decent left in Hollister now that San Andreas and the Thai place are gone?

Jerry's? Been there for breakfast, but don't know about dinner.

The Vault is too pseudo-foo-foo.

I'm not as crazy about the Sizzler in Gilroy (or is it Morgan Hill?) as some are on this forum and besides I want to limit this inquiry to Hollister.

Munge, don't even mention Super Diarrhea...

Oh c'mon!  Give the Super Burrito a chance!  If it's so bad, then why is the line always so long?!

OK, I'll bite. what the hell is "psuedo-foo-foo?" I think the small cafe in Tres Pinos is great. I've only been there for breakfast and I'm not sure they're open for dinner, but the food is top notch and the owner is the model of good service. This is not the place in the same building as the gas station, it is in a separate building about 200' south. I forget the name.

Supertaco rocks though it's no brewery. Then again if I called it Super Diarrhea there muuuust be a story I'd avoid. Has anyone tried the new sushi place that replaced the brewery? Wait...don't answer that.

first of all the Vault is not psuedo-foofoo it is FooFoo garbage.  Supertaco is just garbage.  The joint Brad is talking about is not bad.  I have mostly stopped eating on the way back.  The little store in Tres Pinos has good sandwiches.

Stom...that's Chapala and although good food there is a child molester on the wait saff. I've seen the Megan's law flyer. Although, not that it would make his food any less good.

My vote (since we have moved north) would be Vive Sol in Mountain View.

The Taco truck by the liqure store is always a good choice

There the chinese place just as your coming into town from the pins that is across the street from the Starbucks.

The pizza joint as your leaving town on the right is ok.

then theres,

Pancho's on 4th street

Kristinas - this is next door to Super Taoc

Mi Casa's on 5th street

theres a bbq joint on 5th street

Hows that for a start
