Wow, see what happens when you go to bed before your guests do?

They just left and what he doesn't know is that while he was using the bathroom I snuck a couple poison oak leaves and a tick into his sleeping bag...

I will testify that carrots are definitely performance enhancing.

I climbed 13c after eating those things... but it could have also been the hash.

On second thought the hash might not help...
Took a 40 footer with the rope behind my leg from the last move of an 8A.
That was exciting.

I took a 12 foot fall at Red Rocks when my feet were only a foot or so above the last bolt.

Brad, you're six feet tall. Every fall from above a bolt should be 12 feet.

Fell on Butterballs yesterday... so close to the rest alcove. Crack is freakin hard, I should have eaten my carrots.

Brad, by European belaying standards and techniques that fall must have been pretty harsh. Next time have your belayer standout with a big loop of slack. And the slack is not merely enough the belayer needs to move towards the wall at the moment of impact to lessen the impact. It will be soft and you can spray about taking a bigger fall then.  I thought I knew how to belay well but Chris and Joe Kinder had to re train me.

No, not really. Maybe ten feet, absolute max. And actually, the fall I took might have been 15 feet. The wall I  was on was slightly overhanging. As I came to a stop, I realized immediately that I'd gone farther than I "should" have, but I already knew why: I looked down at my belayer Bill and, sure enough, his feet were six feet off the ground. All my lead falls with Bill are that way - I outweigh him by 55 to 60 pounds.

Yeah, actually, Bill's already got his own "soft catch" technique. It works like a charm every time.

On the other hand, he took a 25 footer at one point and I barely felt the rope come tight!  :D

Brad, that was irresponsible belay technique, you need to soften the fall some how... or you'll break some poor light weight one like myself.

Actually the irresponsibility is mine - I'm too big. Actually, here's a better one - it's Vicki's fault, I'm too happy and content and therefore too big.
