I think the struggle will be to make sure she doesn't end up as the dictator of I.V.

That would be better than her showing up in a Girls Gone Wild Video :)

Ok what I meant to say is, hopefully she doesn't live within a block of the ocean in IV... that's the crazy zone.

Has she ever climbed Gibraltar rock?

That's the question.

That's the question.

She hasn't climbed there, but she's been there and you were with us. She was six months old and you'd joined us for her first climbing/camping road trip.

Adam, when I was at U.C.S.B. living near the ocean was prestigious and way crazy (at times). The ocean-side street was Del Playa, or for those who were cool, "DP." I imagine that this is all still true.

I wonder how many intoxicated folks have fallen off those decks that overhang the ocean... where did Shawn go?

Wow,

Lot's of emotion over what seems to be a minor incident. The Gym (Pacific Edge) receives the closure list every year from the NPS. It is and has been posted on our bulletin board as it has been for 10 + years.  I appreciate being a "good steward", and have done similar things myself over the years. As public figures and educators in the climbing community, I feel that it is our job to keep informed on topics such as raptor closures, and in turn, to inform the climbing public. Caring for our environment, climbing areas included, is a top priority. Setting a good example while we are out climbing is part of our job as climbing professionals. FYI- Tom Davis and Scott Lappin are the resident experts on climbing at the Pinnacles.

I spoke with Rosie. She is relatively new to climbing at the Pinns, her comments about where they were going to climb were off-hand, and made without consulting her friends, or the guidebook. To imply that she may not care about climbing on closed routes is simply not true. I personally feel that the internet is a bad place to take up a complaint with an individual. In person or on the phone should always be the first place to discuss any issue. I was not there, I did not witness any of the events, so I will not carry on any further.

Tom D,
The consultation was done in person and at Pacific Edge. Nobody trashed Rosie on this forum, read all the posts and understand what the facts are. There are least ten posts here that say Rosie wasn't at fault while the NPS is.

Why does everybody get so offended and lose their rationality when they see their name used on the internet?

Wow, all the trouble I'd gone to in hijacking this thread and Tom has to bring it back on point.

Hi, Tom - I missed seeing you in Y.C.L. this year, and missed getting to your excellent gym. Unfortunately our very small team didn't have a coach this year and so it never reformed.

I propose that to "solve" the issues raised here we hang any poster whom we can prove is a consumer of Bud Lite Lime.

And Shawn, where'd you go?

Yeah, yeah, he even admits to being a bit of a Luddite. Still that's twice he's checked-in in two years that he's checked in with us, and one can hope.

He checked in because someone from this forum sent him an email and his employee informed him of this thread.

And Tom and I have a little war going on.

Somewhere on one of the threads I personally called out Tom and he never bothered to checkin for that.  I must not be worthy.
