Did some "old school" climbs this weekend.
I've had my eye on the Castle for so long I've forgotten how many times we've hiked past it.
JC heads up Crumbling Castle's Regular Route 5.5R*

I couldn't believe that sling stayed on the whole time I was leading this sucker.
It was serious pucker time after I placed the "hard to place" gear (an understatement - add dubious) and proceeded to pull the first bulge.
KC pulling the first bulge

After the Castle it was on to Tombstone and the Regular 5.2
Nah...this route isn't R...yeah...tell me another good one! I was happy to find one good sling knob on the upper face.

Into the unknown as I spiral up Tombstone...I took a light rack but nary a placement was found...

After Tombstone, KC wanted to get her lead on - so she jumped on the sharp end and led Monument 5.5*

I lowered her and led it too. I'd led it once before almost a year ago - this time was just plain fun!
We had a great day with plenty of adventure.
