Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
« on: May 05, 2013, 06:59:49 AM »
I have to share this wonderful experience with you. I made a trip to Raj Mahal and Agra Fort along with my co-workers. It was a wonderful day. Even the 102 degree heat was not an issue when I was in complete awe with the wonder of the world.

First a few links:

I'm curious  whether this was a for-work trip, or just a trip with your co-workers?

Nice shots, well most of them. The wealth/poverty mix is fairly stark there.

10 of my 11 coworks are here. So, I'm visiting for business. The weekend trip was personal, but my coworkers were kind enough to join me, which made the experience 10x more pleasant.

The wealth/poverty mis is fairly stark there.
Definitely. I thought China had prepared me, but I was still shocked. The infrastructure is quite behind here.

The wealth/poverty mix is fairly stark there.
I like to take photos of local scenes that I think we don't see else where especially in the US, but I've found myself not being able to press the shutter button often times because it would pain me to record some scenes that could only be a result of poverty and neglect.

Needs some paint.....
Funny you mentioned paint because it was one of the most impressive aspects of Taj Mahal that none of these beautiful patterns on the building was painted. It was all through embeding of colored gems inside hand carved marble. And this all happened in the 17th century.
