vin ordinaire
« on: May 27, 2013, 10:11:17 AM »
anyone done this 5.8 on burgandy?  we did the rap route and scrambled around looking for any kind of a start to vin ordinaire with no success.  pretty sure i saw the vin line and it looked good up high--  pretty clean, steeper version of the rap route scoop.  just wasn't obvious where to start/belay from.  guide book says there is a lost arrow and a couple (bad) bolts.  the piton is likely long gone...

¡salud!

Jack and I replaced a 5/16 buttonhead with a 3/8 star-dryvin In 1991 or so.  That was the second and last bolt.  I think the route is better done as a top-rope at this point.  It's a good route on the hard side of 5.8, small holds and stems.
