Out climbing more obscurities yesterday...

I doubt anyone besides Brad has climbed or can name these Pinnacles...

Serious exposure out left on the start of this one...

clipping the lonely and mythological bolt after climbing past the exposure...

stand tall for Mud N Crud!

another summit bagged!...

Ah, the High Peaks. Probably better climbing there than we could have had here (I'll bet you could at least breathe there in the morning).

And, yes, I've done and can name each of them  ;)

Yes - we have been watching the updates for the fires - keeping a good thought for you and the fam.
Temps were slightly cooler yesterday - a little hot on the hike down but the car said 88 on the way out around 4:00.
We saw a roadrunner by the visitor center on the way out.

I have a friend who would call that "good medicine;" they're beautiful birds and it's hard to get more than a fleeting glimpse of them.

The maintenance lady tells us there are 3 that are seen regularly around the w side visitor's center - it's always fun to see them. I like to see the quail running across the road on the way in - I feel like they are a good omen.

I'd be careful around them roadrunners....strange things tend to fall from the sky and hit you.

Yeah, actually, he's right: only the coyote gets hit by such things.

I thought that bolt on Arch was do-do thirty years ago.  Has it improved with age?

that bolt on Arch

Damnit Bob - you let the cat out of the bag! - clearly Waldo is not most climbers :)

I think the arch should be called Lobster Claw.

Good stuff! Is that one of those rust on bolts? Kind of like those glue-ons you see all over Castle Rock. Good TR.
