Launching Autumn
« on: September 29, 2013, 01:39:55 PM »
JC heading up Bits and Pieces to do the Extension

KC workin’ the steep on B&P before the crux

JC on his first 5.10a onsight – I put the Fall in Autumn a few moves later…I would have made it clean had I not lingered in this section…

We only saw one other pair of climbers all day…

I did Rumplestiltskin on the way out (no pics until I topped out – KC said she was too nervous)…then she and I free soloed The Lamb together to end a nice day.

Although I haven't started at Pinns yet, I got in 23 new routes in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. Fun stuff.

Nice! That sounds like one of my Bamas trips. Any choice pics?

No pics yet - mostly it was just Vicki and I climbing. We did take two friends out for a full day, high on the mountains behind Santa Barbara. Vic took some photos there, but they're not downloaded yet.

Nice work. Stop at 5.10... It's not fun above that.

All I see is "Squiddo says 'I want to get on Zenyatta Mondatta'"

the mudncrud site must have some sort of word filter going. ;)

LOL I've done enough 11A, even at ORG to know it IS fun. Aid, I've done enough of THAT nonsense to know I will NEVER be getting on Zenyatta Mondatta.

Love the thought of filter.

KC asked me today if her ad JC could come along this weekend when I do NIAD. Damn, climbers grow up fast these days.

Did you mean lad?

Regardless - no way I could keep up with you guys on a route like that! Homey can't climb 5.11 crack...

quote from Middendorf: For mere mortals with a long rope, times of 10-12 hours are possible at a reasonable pace by a team of two fit 5.11 crack climbers, averaging 25-30 minutes a pitch.

times of 10 to 12 hours are tough, but I guess I was not really a 5.11 climber
