Maybe there's a silver lining to the shutdown (besides the squirrels re-taking the park).

Just think of the $$ saved in gas by not driving there!

This should lead to an increase in SNP guidebook sales!

I saw a story on the news this morning - two ladies were each issued a $275 fine for hiking in Red Rocks.

But that is Red Rocks... they are known for busting people.

They are not busting people in Yosemite, and basically just issuing parking tickets. I talked to a few LEOs about this. They hate what is going on and also just don't have the time to go looking for people to bust. I know for sure people are still climbing all over the valley, but you can't drive beyond El Cap Crossover without the secret password.

I don't give a rat's ass about the valley.
My love lies elsewhere.

Bummer, so that nixes the trail work weekend?

I'd hit the Grotto or some place up on 108.

I have a bad feeling about it. Everybody loses until this idiotic standoff is over.

I wrote Larry and said we'd be there to help if this nonsense ever ends.

Utah struck a deal with the Feds to get their National Parks open since that is where quite a bit of their money comes from.  I heard 100 Mill for the Month of October.  I have no idea how acurate that number is but is it enough money that they got their parks open early.  Talked to one local and he stated that Utah wants to get control of their parks.

The MTB riding out there is really good.  They actually get it and realize there is no desire for DPR type trails.

You know, I was thinking for a moment today that you and I should get in another day of rebolting on Resurrection Wall. And then reality set in.

Too bad that the "party of Lincoln" now celebrates invented/imagined realities around confederate flags. Buttwipes.
