What's there to explain?? It's a Bull Shark eating a free lunch. Haven't you seen one eat before? Happens all the time.

Mako?? You're on crack. Mako's have large nasty teeth.

Okay, Jenny and I paid to go on a "special" shark dive. They take you to 100ft. A couple dive masters bring in 100lbs or so of tuna in garbage bins. They've been doing this for 5 years, so all the sharks know this and every other friking fish for 10 miles.

Supposedly a HUGE tiger shark comes around, but not this time...rrriiggght.

Me having a camera, was put in the line of fire. The guy would get the shark to come in to eat and feed him into my line of view. The shark would get the meal and pass over me, of course I'd got the shot. Not great, but it'll do.

I have another picture of a larger Bull that buzzed me. Folks freaked out and I was waved back into line with the others. Priceless.

jRead a story about some folks that dropped into one of those sites with thier kid but did not bring any food with them. The sharks started getting a bit agitated so they went up. The sharks were buzzed them the whole way up.

Is the other feeding shot natural? And, what kind of fish is it? That could be the coolest shot.

Mr Mud, that's a giant Trevally (tuna). And yes he was a guest at the feeding. Folks were so fixated on the sharks, yet I saw some HUGE tuna like this one that were in my mind cool as the sharks to see.

This site is well managed by one group. They do the dive/feed once a week on Friday. It's on a site far away from the normal dive sites. If you were to dive it on a non-feeding day there would only be a few locals hanging out.

Munge, YES, feeding them is highly controversial. In my mind it's wrong because it's out of the normal scheme of things for these sharks to get fed nice fat tuna. These are the same sharks that head up rivers to breed. At some point someone is going to get hurt. Maybe not on that island but possibly another one.

Yep Squiddo, that's what was thinking at the time as well. "He'd taste real nice.

The odd thing about the feed was all of these tasty fish and yet, the sharks left them alone. I suspect that's why we were safe as well.

I saw a black with white spots one at the bay immediately south of Napili Bay.
