I bet he cheated and used his forehead. What a fricken sport climber! Before you know it, he will be turning his nose up at unprotected loose shit that is 5.9 or under.
Was bound to happen. BC (Bruce and Clint, nothing to do with their age) put up a new route with JC's name written all over it that he can onsight.

This phenomenon is caused by the rising sun reflecting off JC's shirt and turning the whole Eastside orange.

Sunday he led a 5.9 (per the book) that was solid 5.10a.  Yesterday he led a 5.10a that was only 5.9. Either way he got it done.

Today he got on a 5.10b (guidebook). Crux at the very end. He fell off making the LAST move. Came down, sipped some water, then redpointed it. We both agreed that it was really "only" 5.10a, but I still want some of that water.

I was curious so I just tallied them.
Before this past weekend,  I had led 13 5.9's at Pinns and one in The Hills.
Thanks again to Brad for all his encouragement, patience and inspiration :)

Rider of the Deadline 9* (solid 10a from here to the anchor per Brad)

Choss, Moss and Butt Floss 10a** (more like 9 but still very challenging for me)

Blackhawk Pinnacle 10b* (more like 10a) - Burnt Penis 5.7 is the tower on the left

Great day with Jim and John in the Gorge yesterday. And I got to lead both crux pitches of a three star 10c at Pine Creek today. Tops off a great week. Photos after we get home.

Yep, I'm pretty tired, but I feel like I got in a lot of climbing!
