There was a nice lightening storm over Monterey and to the south this morning.

JC and Nelkins went down this morning to do some bolt replacement - hopefully they are not getting wet :-)

Jim, you coulda said something (although it sounds like you didn't know where you'd left it!). I'll call you about getting it back to you. Mystery solved  ;D

KC, nice lead. I'll bet there's no other spot in Pinns that stays cooler than that one on a hot day. Good choice, (and again, good lead).

Thanks - the climb was in the shade until I got about half way up and yes, it was nice and cool in the shade.  At least the sun was at my back while I was climbing.

Somewhere between me saying "Kind of really wanting it." and Mud saying "I'll show you how it's done."  :)

I find that hard to believe :)

It's a good thing you guys went yesterday. It was pretty freakin' hot up top Saturday. I couldn't get motivated to get on anything sunny after Kat bagged her lead and I took the time to patch a few holes.

I'm going to say it again - Tunnel Wall is now a "star wall" with spice, good rock and quality steel on 3 routes.

The overcast and sprinkles yesterday were perfect for our rebolting at The Frog.
Noal and I wore ourselves out replacing 9 bolts.

The re-bolt on Tunnel Traverse was a very good service.  The old bolts did not look good.

Hey, JC, you should post more pics of the rebolting efforts.  The mystery summit shots are always cool.

What did you re-bolt on the Frog?

You could hear us yelling at him too?  It's amazing that people at the Frog can yell at somebody on the High Peaks trail by the Unmentionable and they can hear 'em.

No JC told me. I was in the other High Peaks, the higher ones.

Sorry I didn't check in here (I didn't even see your message). I got home late totally exhausted and went to bed.

I was checking in with Vicki while I was out there with my (satellite) InReach beacon/text messager. (I got this for when I do long solo backpacking trips and was trying to learn it's systems - note to self, take reading glasses if you want to be able to read the screen!).

Good! If a rap bolter was to perish by mysterious circumstance, this device would be your alibi.

In other news, will detectives link the heart attacks to Styrofoam fake rocks?

So much for a memorial climb in the Way Outback. ::) :eeeek:
What did you discover on your walkabout - other than you still can't see up close no matter how badly you want to

Not much out there.

But I did see these at the top of a cliff, at least 3/4 of a mile as the crow flies from any fence line that currently exists at Pinnacles (and most of that distance is terribly brushy terrain). WTF??
