INVALID WITHOUT PICS!

Don't expect us to believe you went without your camera  ::)

I knew you'd say that - yep, I did take some photos but have been busy with this whole thing called work, and can't totally remember the process for putting photos on this site... Send me an email with some refresher directions!

Latest report from Johnny Come Lately;

Crazy amounts of water down there right now.
Small patches of debris washed down into upper parking on the east side at the start of the Bear Gulch/Moses Springs trail.
Bear Gulch trail is a stream again.
Cool flows at the Fern Chamber and Heat Seeking Moisture Missile.
Caves are closed due to flooding and the sounds of the water - wow.
Res is higher than we've ever seen it. There is a big log that got sucked into the overflow pipe and it is restricting the flow of the waterfall on the other side - otherwise the water might be hitting the steps below the dam - or at least shooting up on the lip before the big drop. I told some onlookers they should wade in and remove the log jam. No takers.
Tiny patches of snow along Condor Gulch (past the junction with High Peaks north).
Quite a bit of snow still visible on the mountains to the east and southeast.
Much enhancement of greenery and almost no one in the campground.
Cool temps and more rain in the forecast...

Thanks for the report. Maybe no climbing there for a while  :-\

Highly curious here too about how the new rig worked out?

Wonder if the great condor chimney has ice in it?

I’d remove the log if Mungie would hold my beer.

Thanks for the update.

Wow, that bad, huh? And I had such high hopes.

(And what in hell else do you have to do but keyboard on a bad weather day.)

Alright, I finally worked through several images of snow at Pinnacles from earlier in the week (on Tuesday)... Thanks to Brad and JC for the photo posting reminders.

Looking towards Balconies from the High Peaks Trail:

Another view along the High Peaks Trail:

Looking down at the base of the Flakes and Feather Canyon area, east downslope of the Three Bears:

Flatiron and more snowy slopes in the distance:

Squareblock hit by the sun, from along High Peaks Trail:

A cap of snow on some flowering Warrior's Plume:

Snout and the Pipsqueak ridge with Rubble Wall in the distance:

Photographer's Delight with Long's Folly in the distance (as flurries of snow were coming down):

And finally, a photo of Alacia enjoying the hike along High Peaks Trail:

Those are really cool Gavin - thanks.
I never imagined it being more than a light dusting.
I knew it was forecast to snow but figured there was no way it would stick since the ground wasn't frozen.
That scenario is typical back east. I guess I will never totally lose my "back east" way of thinking.
I wish we had jumped in the car and come down for a hike!

Yeah, I was surprised how long the snow stuck around... When we started out on trail I figured it would melt by the time we got up into the High Peaks, but it stayed cold with clouds moving in and out. We got hit by some nice blizzards of snowflakes up near Condor Crag and the Fingers... Definitely a good day to be walking in the park.

Wonderful images, Gavin! Holmgren and I lucked into a similar day twenty-five years ago, but neither of us had a camera.
