Let me interpret what Mud is saying above.
He is volunteering at a local hospital. One of the comatose patient's (he talks and reads to) eyelid twitched when he said the words 'first ascent'.

No rain at Pinns yet but evidently pretty gloomy today. Solar readings were low including one that hit 420 at 11:37 dude.    :out:

Whoops, I missed your post before.

For now, maybe just link to page 14 of this thread where I have the photos rather than posting them directly on supertopo... Then we can draw some more climber traffic to M 'n C. I'm always a bit paranoid (as a photographer that sometimes sells his work) of my images getting posted on other sites without permission or photo credit... I've seen some of my images turn up for sale on other folks' websites. It's one reason I don't post my work more widely on different sites.

Yeah Gavin, I've read that if you post up on social media, it's hard to sell to publishers or them folk.

Just give us the crappy ones, we have low standards.

Rock was dry yesterday but now it is wet again.
The park rain gauge is about to tip 16 inches!

Yep, more rain this morning, and gray clouds throughout the day. It looks like tomorrow (Sunday) will be clear and beautiful (i.e. crowded), but then a chance of rain throughout the week. Great to see the hills looking green and with a great variety of flowers blooming now.

Hope the rain melts the snow.

Pins might be the spot for memorial weekend.

Got rained out and the day with Brad was cut short today.
Home early but had fun yesterday in the High Peaks.

climbed in the rain today it never really rained hard, just sprinkles..  Took my intern climbing for his first day on rock.  He was previously strictly a gym climber.  He got in his first lead, was not a hard route but he did just fine.  We wrapped up with some traverses and explored a new crag.

Annnnd...

It's snowing here this morning. Thankfully it's not really sticking (at least not yet).

I vote for El Diablo.

It's raining off and on here on the coast and I see that Pinns got almost half an inch the last 24 hours (yesterday morning and again last night). Forecast isn't especially promising over the next couple weeks (more rain? really?) but that seems to be on par with this whole year.

Pins might be the spot for memorial weekend.

No doubt.
Temps are still forecast to be cool the next couple of weeks.
I forecast there will be an increased frequency of orange coloration on the Crud. :yesnod:   :ihih:

Are folks heading to the Pinns next weekend or Sonora?

Camping at the Pinns sounds tempting.

Some to both I am sure. Brad said he was going to take a drive and scope things out.
Biting flies are out at Pinns but not too bad so far (Kat might disagree) - skeets too but also not bad yet.

This morning the snow is sticking to roofs and covering cars. Just a dusting.

I looked at the calendar though, and it's MAY. May. The California Constitution guarantees sunshine all month.

Nice, made me laugh.

It is raining here but I guess that is not really news worthy
