Then it's swimming time this spring.

Maybe we can get Brad to do a backflip off Birdbrain at the MoM  ;D

Birdflip is more likely.

Trail past the res was flooded again today - more than last time - we went around Upper Crust approach start.
Bear Gulch trail was a seasonal stream.
Nailbox was major seepage.
Fern Chamber was crankin'
Heat Seeking Moisture Missile was cray-zee as was the spillway by the stairs.
Spent a fun day with Brad.
Shaping up to be a stellar weekend after a little rain the next few days.

It is actually raining at Pinns. 12 hundreths of an inch so far tonight with 100% chance of Heavy Rain predicted overnight.
Wrecks all over 17 today - a miracle I made it both ways over the hill without getting stuck or creamed.
Bad wreck on the Fish Hook on the way home tonight. There may likely be a bad pileup if someone comes racing off the last curve to exit. There were emergency vehicles lined up on the Fish Hook and no flares on the last blind curve. I don't envy those crew workers.

Change that from bowling to boating  :incazzato: :madman: :madmax: :out:

Glad I got out Wednesday  :yesnod:

14.44 whats?

National Weather Service says 1.19 inches in the last 24 hours (which is really, really needed - after climbing, I'm going to walk up to Upper Crust tomorrow to see how the PCAD work looks and how the rain affected it).

Yes...rainfall amounts are still measured in inches here in Mare-i-ca.

You guys are still going and camping?

Yeah, I've lived in 'merka for a while. But seriously, it read 14 plus inches? That's got to be an error? That amount seems inconceivable.

Up to this minute, the kids are still planning on meeting me there this evening (I'm leaving here around 1:00). And tomorrow looks climbable - at least to some extent. We're not planning on climbing Sunday (there's more weather coming in).

Do I need to call in the accountant?

The gauge has been sitting at 14.44 inches since the last pitiful rain a few weekends ago. I don't know when they zero it out - Jan 1?
That is probably the yearly total, which seems about right. CA's average rainfall is around 23 inches - approximately twice what a desert receives.
In other news the gauge tipped 15.80 at 9:30 this morning and hasn't moved since - so maybe the deluge is over.

No, no, don't bother the accountant, she's got plenty to do I'm sure.

The way I read the original post, I thought you meant that there'd been between 14.44 and 15.63 inches of rain in the last day or so (and so I was giving some thought to doing the first whitewater descent of Bear Gulch). Now I understand that what you were really saying was that the gauge went from a measurement of 14.44 inches to a measurement of 15.63 inches.

National Weather Service says 1.36 inches there in the last 24 hours, which is fits right in with the correct reading of what you wrote (there's more coming Sunday).

El Dingo may be back.
I started a Pinns tracking sheet yesterday.
More than an inch fell overnight there...cray-zee.

Speaking of drill dust, I found my original black blow tube today. Necessary for more taxing stance drilling.
