I don't see the photo. Is this an invisible species?

The link is there and working. And, uh no, it's not invisible at all....

Great work, Brad, Tricia and Vicki! I'm surprised by all the snow in the Trinities! Perhaps the new species could be called Trump's Ear?

I forgot to post this photo in the main part of the trip report. Tricia and I are certain that we found a new species in these northern California forests.

Presented for your approval is the "J.C. Mushroom:"

Quote
We saw them in a few places along the trail. They could be alien invaders who rode their uni-saucers here from outer space and are now stranded on earth. Or residual's of an old Meanderthal civilization slowly circling the Earth as part of plate tectonics.

We don't know if they are edible so we strongly suggest that no-one Cook them.

Well done exposition.

Alright, we're packed for backpacking and for the drive. We're off in half an hour for Etna, California.

While packing for our four day backpacking trip, Tricia said to me twice "I'm looking forward to actually backpacking again." If things go as planned (IF), we'll finish this trip less than three miles from the California/Oregon border.

Good luck!

Make sure you wear your Oregon disguise when you cross the border.

We're out of the Marble Mountain Wilderness now. Beautiful, beautiful Country.

We went from too warm (and mild heat exhaustion) to rain and more rain, shivering and wet (until we got set up in our tent). And then from hiking trails to walking on a state highway (which is the PCT).

Leaving Seiad Valley today for a 4,500 foot climb up off the Klamath River valley (man that's a big river). Finishing today at Cook and Green Pass. (We don't' know who some guy named "Green" was, but "Cook?" Them we know.)

We're done for this trip. In 2.6 miles (two point six miles) we'll cross the California/Oregon border. It'll have to wait until August.

It seems to me that reasonable minds might think that the numbers only were a typo  >:D

Or that that some of us with three and four letter designations for symptons, might learn differently.  :)

Rachel wondered why you stated it in 2 (two) different ways. Did you enjoy algebra?

^^^yeah, why both ways?

Can we get back to climbing now?

With that said, I'm probably hiking this weekend.

And how many extra cups of coffee did you have this morning?

Seriously, both ways to make sure that I was sure that it was sure that it wasn't a typo. Tricia and I were both a little blown away that after half of her lifetime hiking on this trail we are now an hour's walk (one hour) from Oregon.

I'll be getting back to climbing (Tricia and Vicki are leaving in two days for a Girl Scout backpacking camp - Tricia will be on Rosie's team by the way). So in my slovenly loneliness I'll look to climbing for solace.

Where are you hiking? Going with Tim for training?
