July 4th Weekend
« on: July 04, 2016, 07:25:39 AM »
Go to see everyone one up at Brads.  It was a good day and definitely worth the drive.  Had not seen Vicky or the Dawson’s for quite some time.   Was a good day of climbing at second quarry.

What a pleasant surprise to open the door and there's a Mud Rat wearing a down jacket and a huge smile.

And to watch you moving on granite; admit it or not, climbing on granite is still (obviously) second nature to you.

We were headed south on 49 and got lost amongst wineries. Fortunately we saw a sign.

pretty funny clink.

@Brad, yep it felt good.  Definitely 30 years on granite has had an influence.  Kind of surprised myself out there.  Need to go back and get a lead or two...

Mud, we'll be here. If it would help you to visit more often, I can send you a map that will show that we are directly on the way when you drive from the Bay Area to Washington.

Clink, Before she left, Kat showed us a photo on her Facebook: all six of your girls in one shot? All six made it to one weekend? Now that must have been a rare pleasure.

Oh, and riddle me this anyone who was not there:

Mr. Mud and I both climbed a three star route called Shake and Bake yesterday. How could we have done this?

Gavin finally got Pangaea done today (four pitches, 5.10c ***). I'd forgotten how really, really good that one is (I'm tired and he seems to be too).

Plus he got in a lead of Travels With Charlie (5.10c **), a fun route I put up last season with Tom Addison (it's named in honor of a beautiful red-faced girl - one Charlotte Young).

Good day.
