Flagstaff Mountain (Boulder)
« on: July 15, 2016, 07:09:40 AM »
Just starting a new thread for my local bouldering hangout...

I hit up the goods for a dawn sesh this morning.

I bouldered at Miscellaneous Valley and Tree Slab, hitting up some of the moderates there. Highballs and bad landings abound. Being by myself, I kept things on the mellow side, only getting up to V1 in difficulty (equivalent to ~V2/3 at Castle Rock!). The problems on Tree Slab were my favorites. The V1 traverse and the two V0 up problems are way fun. The ups are a bit spicy, topping out around 18-20 feet.  :)

Um, question: isn't your avatar a photo of Ubergoober and not you?

Nope, that's definitely me. Pictures was taken at the Munich Hofbräuhaus in July 2013.

I would have bet $100.00 that it was Jeff. And, apparently, I would've lost  :o

It may be the hat. Jeff has a hat just like that, and I associate it with him (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

I used to have the hat too... It's just a waxed canvas Ivy Cap from REI, nothing special. I lost mine at the Munich Airport. I'd put it in the basket on my luggage cart, and then left it when we returned the carts. I have the other color of the hat now, because I wasn't able to find the same one again.
