PCAD, mud, and returning a locker
« on: October 24, 2016, 08:21:18 PM »
Hi everyone,

This past weekend was mine and Cynthia's second PCAD, and just like last year, it was a hoot! Whilst I wont rattle off the obvious things that make it a great event, I wanted to highlight how absolutely wonderful it was to have climbers of all backgrounds, experiences and levels of skill mixing, hanging out and climbing together. Whilst we have made many trips to Pinnacles in recent years, this past weekend was probably one of my favourite days there, simply because of the people and atmosphere. With that, I'd like to just say a huge thank you to Brad, Mark F, John C and everyone else who was climbing on the new mud n' crud area on Sunday for being awesome, sharing their passion for climbing, taking time to teach important rope skills to those newer climbers who'd come along, and for letting us be part of the fun of validating new route difficulty. What a hoot it was!

On a slightly more practical matter, when I sorted out my rack tonight I found a locker that isn't mine, which got muddled into one of the anchor rigs. I think it's Mark F's, but i'm afraid I don't know the best way to return it to him, nor do I have his contact details. Might someone who knows him personally have him reply to this thread? I'd like to ensure it makes its way back it to him.

Thanks again everyone - see you on the rock soon!

Tim

Sending you an email with Mark's email address.
I am sure the locking biner is his - he was asking around for one.
I posted a pic of you on the PCAD thread.
Glad you guys had fun

Thanks for the photo JC - had no idea you were taking photos! I don't suppose you took any of Cynthia doing her first lead did you?
I've emailed Mark, thanks for connecting us :-)

Sorry but I wasn't there when Cynthia did her first lead on HMIYE.

She picked a nice climb for her first lead - I was impressed!

Did you guys do Mudster's Ball?

Mark is climberdude on here.

As we had the TR up, we ran out of time by the time by the point we needed to leave. We loved the mud n' crud area; we'll probably head back over there on the 12th or 13th weekend, so i'll climb them both them and get Brad his rating feedback :-D From what I could tell, it looked stiffer than HMIYE, but we'll see!

Let me know and I'll send you the route descriptions.

Some people were a little confused by a couple of the routes but they had not read the route descriptions carefully.

I meant to take some more printed copies out there - whoops!

Welcome Tim!  Thank you for contacting me about returning the locking carabiner.  I had a great time with you and others.  The team who put this on did a fantastic job!
