I recall it being wet the last time I did it (you could camp on the West Side back then). With this rain, does it dry after a few days, or just keep seeping until April?

There a lot of moss on this wall and with a lot of water, it stays wet a long time.

But, as far as I can tell, it's closed for now for raptors anyway. By the time it is re-opened this summer it will probably be dry  :D

Brad is correct. The point is moot. The wall is closed.

Just as a point of info, Hoof It (behind Goat Rock) is right in a water streak and much shorter than the Resurrection routes.
It took about 4 full days to dry after substantial rain and cool temps. It too is closed.

Resurrection has ample shade in the summer - closures are normally lifted on July 4th.

Does anyone know the folks running: http://pinnacles.org/climbing_info/index.html#closures

It shows Resurrection Wall as open.

Friends of Pinnacles? Know them? Both Mr. Mud (not his real name - he runs this site) and I got put on the board some years ago.

Unfortunately though their/our web master (the guy who maintains their site) has a full time (plus plus) job, and doesn't live locally any more. Their site is often behind times (check out their list of new routes, for example). Disseminating information like that isn't their purpose or priority.

The list of closures here on Mudn'Crud is as good as it gets, it's first hand information - as you've seen, the guy who makes closure decisions (Gavin) posts directly.

Thanks for the heads up. I see a couple other things that don't correlate.
I'll send an email to Brooks.
We need the sites to be consistent since the park's website (NPS) links to both FOP and Mud N Crud.
The direct link (sensitive areas) on the NPS site shows Resurrection closed.

1 of 3. I think Brad is taller when he is not slouching.

In the case of Mr. Mud, he has much to be modest about  ::)

I am the better looking Eric. That has to count for something.

Resurrection, bottom is shaded and mossy. Upper, likely be dripping onto the lower.

Plus the mid section to upper is in the shade (at least it was in the fall). That means cold as F**** when you get a little wind coming through.

Wait until it's cleared from the Raptor closures and it gets warmer.

A few pictures from out mis-guided accent when it was only 114 ("sure the route is in the ""SHADE" (just not the crux of the 1st pitch)...

1st mossy pitch

Starting of the 2nd pitch, note the "sun" cooking my brains.

2nd looking scared

Jake on the startof the 3rd, note the tied off knobs

Jake farther out...and at this point I/ we were cooked and no more pictures.

Then came the "walk" of shame around the back side of the wall in our climbing shoes...
I'm not worthy.

Hey All -

Just to clarify for the closure list on the FOP site: Resurrection Wall should have been included in my initial update of closures for the 2017 season, but I mistakenly left it open. I just updated the FOP list, so it should now be consistent with the PDF on the official Pinnacles website and the list here on Mud n' Crud. Sorry for the oversight.
