Memorial Weekend @ Sonora
« on: May 05, 2017, 01:40:25 PM »
Will this be a skiing weekend?

Or will there be some climbing to be done?

Pinnacles will be to hot, plus I'd go broke having to buy ice cream sandwiches for my crew.

Corn snow sounds good.

Mungie, are WAAA folks welcome?

First, could F4 please ask a moderator to fix his thread title so that the spelling of our county seat is Sonora?

Second, anyone thinking of climbing at Sonora over Memorial weekend is crazy; temps will be almost as hot there as at Pinns (however hot that is) and, unlike Pinns, there just isn't enough climbing down there to have room to get away from the inevitable swarms of B.A.P.s. Yuck.

Third, lots of climbers are coming up here that weekend and lots of high county stuff is opening up even now (although lots will be closed too; for example, due to massive road washouts there won't be any access to the Donnell dam area until at least 2018). As always there's plenty of room for climbers at our house and/or at the Dawsons' house. I think Rob would make room for climbers too, but if he insists on participating in snow-related activities that weekend? Well that'll be a personal hell he'll have to get through by himself. Double yuck.  :P   >:D

Re the title, I blame the fruit company keyboard, bad keys.

I'm just stirring it up to see what the plan is for that weekend.

My crew is looking forward to it. Infact James is in the gym training for it.

Are there any DES projects that can be jumped? I mean completed?

Have guests pretty full at my place already for a full fam size. But there is wood floor space?

Only hiccup is if we go to see nephews.

When all that snow melts, mudpuddle or quagmire?

Going to do the SPH hot-tub this year. So much water, why not, right?

Nice!

If only there was someone local who could give us a report on the conditions.
