The same system put on quite a show in the Emigrant Wilderness yesterday!
After an intense, three hour session of the "works" on afternoon three, I'd skated with just clouds for a few days. Until yesterday.
Luckily I'd finished hiking for the day (under black, black clouds that should've let go earlier) and set up camp. I got pounded by rain, with constant lightning and thunder. Just pounded.
Both dogs, me, and my gear stayed fairly dry in my one-man tent (can you spell cozy?). And then it let up for an hour (dinner for three, a little tidying up after the last cycle and a few stretches).
Then again, starting at about 8:00. Hours of pounding rain and flashes lighting up the tent. Boom, boom, boom.
Kinda glad to get out today. This morning it looked like a setup for the same again this afternoon. I'm ready for a little civilization anyway.
