If you ever have the opportunity it’s definitely worth a visit.  Though no climbing allowed.

Looks like a cool place to wander around for the day.

For climbing places that look like Pinnacles I've always wanted to visit Maple Canyon.  Anybody been there?

Cool that it is similar rock (rhyolitic tuff) and nice diagram of joints weathering in the pictures section.
I think I like the history on Johnny Ringo even more - I love old western history.

Climbed in Maple canyon once.  Only for a quick stop on a family road trip.  The places I climbed were more solid than the Pinns and much more of a sport climbing area.  Also that was a year of strange moth invasion and each night there were hundreds of moths swarming around any light at night.   Not as cool as the butterfly hatch we saw at Pinns once but interesting.

That's what I've heard from folks I have taken to Pinnacles for the first time  who have climbed in Maple Canyon.  They usually say "you'd love it the lodestones/cobbles don't come out"   Maybe one day I'll be passing through too.

What fun is that?

Do they have a route called Cobble Goblin?

If and when Kat and I start traveling, I want to go check out Cochise Stronghold.

I know, I know it isn't crud...

and hopefully by then I won't be too chicken for the chicken heads

Although I've never been to Cochise Stronghold, Bill's been there a lot (he used to live nearby). He's always made it sound like a fabulous place to climb. Even if it were a marginal place though, I'd love to climb there based on the name alone.
