Crud and Mud
« on: April 09, 2018, 08:24:41 AM »
Hey there Masters of Mud!

Thank you for your excellent work on the recent(ish) development at Crud and Mud. I had the pleasure of climbing nearly all the routes and found the rock to be solid, the bolting to be excellent and the terrain perfect for beginning climbers and new leaders. I am an AMGA guide working for Sports Basement Outdoors and will be leading my our first Lead Climbing Weekend course this month, on April 21-22. After finding Crud and Mud I'll definitely be taking my crew the extra distance to take advantage of this excellent crag. Oh, and if we're welcome we'd love to come join your MOM celebrations on Frida and Saturday nights!

I also want to thank John Cook for the wealth of information he gave me when I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him on the trail by the reservoir. If I'm not in Yosemite, I'd totally be willing and keen to come help you out midweek with any projects at the Pinnacles, while the weather is still cool, or next winter. I've never bolted anything before, but I would be willing to put in some work if you guys teach me the skills.

Thanks Glenn (sp?).
I didn't realize you would be teaching lead climbing. Crud and Mud is an excellent place to do that imo.
Other spots that I think you would find interesting are
Deep Groove Wall (near The Knee and Nit-Wit Knob) has an excellent mix of new and old stuff and Noal and I replaced all the old hardware. There are two old gear climbs too (yer gonna die!)  :yikes:
The Northeast Frontier (new area) if temps are cool
Old Man and Granny's Kitchen (new area)

Let me know if you need any other suggestions and absolutely feel free to bring the crew over and mingle with the Masters.

Hey Pinns crew,

We had to reschedule our April weekend climbing course to the Pinns to June 2-3, coming up soon. Are any of you MoM gonna be in the park that weekend? It would be cool for the new climbers in our course to meet and chat with the stewards and folks who are putting up the routes they will be climbing. If not, then hopefully we can catch you all this fall when we return after the heat!

cheers!

I should be able to make it out there.
Are you just going to be there Sunday or both Saturday and Sunday?
