I made a call today to see if the climbing gym had ropes for sale.
"Hi, do you have ropes for sale?"
"We have harnesses and shoes but I don't think we sell any topropes."

I couldn't grasp the concept of how a toprope could be a "First Ascent", but I have only owned lead ropes. Now that i know there are topropes available for purchase, I can put up first ascents with one. This always confused me, now I see the light.

Not sure if they stock 50m, standard Pinnacles rope length.

People are squeamish about eating the last one.
We stayed at the Seven Gables Inn many years ago.
At breakfast, they served a big restaurant-size pan of egg souffle - cut into pieces.
When there was one piece left, I took it (my second helping) and the other guests looked at me like I had committed a cardinal sin.
The host promptly brought out an entire fresh pan of it while I was stuffing my face.

Passed the Seven Gables on a walk this morning. Might be a good place to rummage around the trash for some delectable one off-cast offs.

Sea wall was wet in places.

We still joke about that event 20 years later (referring to the apparently appalled other guests as "the stuffies").
