Doesn't seem like that long ago.
That was fun.

Tricia definitely remembered Bananagrams with you two - fondly.

Will be nice when everything opens up, will say my garage is looking much more organized.

Alright, we're mostly packed and ready for an early start tomorrow morning.

First to far northeastern California to do Eagle Peak and Hat Mountain, the highpoints of Modoc and Lassen County. If we get these done, I'll be one county highpoint away from haven gone every one in the state. And Tricia will have only 15 left to do (not bad for an 18 year old).

Then to Washington, possibly by way of Hood River, Oregon. Our goal this trip is relatively short: just under 60 miles from Chinook Pass to Interstate 90 and Snoqualamie Pass. Snoqualamie Pass is 40 miles from Mister Mud's home and so we hope to see him again too.

We're prepared to bandit camp the whole time - we can't rely on campgrounds being open and we'll just drive out into the woods to camp away from people. Our only contacts will be for gas, groceries and, hopefully Brian, Whitney and Dennis.

Here's hoping for smooth sailing....

Look forward to seeing you.  Garage is a mess, two steps forward one step back.

Dave Wood stopped by yesterday/today.  Was nice visiting him for a bit.

Masks or bandannas put a new twist on bandit camping (or bandannagrams).

If you see a pale, little bald-headed guy in overalls with a banjo - run like hell.

Of course this is assuming Mud hasn't lost his hair or taken up mountain music.  :guitar: :devildevil:

Everyone in this car thought your bandit camping comment was pretty damn clever.

Good luck!!! Have a good time.

Crazy to think Mr Mud moved to Washington to be a forward base for The PCT.

I bet Mr Mud shaves up in Washington.

Tricia and I are on the summit of Hat Mountain.  High point of Lassen County. Two more and I’ll have done every high point in the state. So cool to do so many with her.

Eagle Peak today. The high point of Modoc County. I thought it would take five hours. It took 7 1/2.

Over 4,000 feet of elevation gain, including steep cross country movement for the last mile. I’m completely hammered, could barely eat dinner.

The oddest thing though - the summit, at just under 10,000 feet, was absolutely swarming with ladybugs. All over the place on the ground and flying around.

Cross country at the end is killer. But you got a ladybug welcome!

Considering insects out number humans by several billion to one...I think you two were the oddballs.  :yesnod:

That is why I like hanging out with humans that attract flies, ticks and mosquitoes.

Just finished last hike of this trip. Remarkably successful!

Hoping now that Mr Mud isn’t caught in what looks like heavy, heavy westbound traffic into the Seattle area (we’re driving east and then south).
