Get registered all you crudders!

We only have a few weeks to go until the event and we already have 24 registered (limit this year is 50).

If you are interested - this is a great way to give something back to the park and hang with a great group of people.

We always have a lot of fun and the park really needs our help this year.

^^^

It's 5.6 and is going from no stars to two stars in the new book. Remarkably solid rock. You had a chance to climb it this spring, but it was too late in a fairly warm day.

I just checked and the temps are forecast in the mid to upper seventies for next weekend.

We have some nice raffle and auction items up for grabs.

I need experienced folks to step up and be willing to lead a crew for trail brushing or trash pickup.

Hey Waldo - due to a shortage of park staff, we will only be working on Saturday this year.  We will still be camping Friday and Saturday night.  We will be headed down early Friday to meet with Park Staff and hopefully get in a little climbing before heading back to camp for the evening.

PCAD 2019 was very enjoyable.
I thought we had a successful event and got a lot of work accomplished.
Our trash crews found a ton of refuse and our trail brushing crews did a huge service.
I am anxious to go take a long hike and survey all the work.

After the crews were on their way, we moved tables and chairs to the campground and then I packed up to do some bolt checks.
I had a special request from David Rubine to inspect and possibly replace the bolts on Stupendous Man. I found two lead bolts with loose hangers and torqued those to specification. I inspected and checked torque on the remaining bolts (they are all in good shape). I found three loose anchor hangers on bolts at three different locations along the top of the wall and torqued them all to spec.

Yesterday (Sunday) we had fun climbing at Goat Rock and hopefully everyone else did too – wherever you were climbing. What a beautiful day! I led a route and did an anchor replacement while we were out there.

The taco truck was a big hit again this year and the auction and raffle were fun and entertaining.

One of the highlights of the evening was a mystery bidder calling out from the shadows by the tree barricade when the piece of Pinnacles art was on the auction block (Brad was battling for it). I was stunned and overjoyed when Mr. Mud emerged from the shadows and spent some time hanging out with the group.

I’d like to say thanks again to all the committee members (Aaron, Dina, Kat, Caleb and clink), Friends of Pinnacles (Bruce and Brooks), Pinnacles National Park Foundation (Jenn), the ASCA, the Access Fund, the American Alpine Club and most of all – ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS! You folks are the ones that make the event possible!!!

Alright all you crudders - post some pics!

I’ll do another post when we get our various donations together, so you can see all of the good PCAD does for Pinnacles and the climbing community.

Happy trails, safe climbing and most of all – Here’s Mud in Your Eye!

A highlight from the climbing: Alex Dawson held his first lead fall (Lexi was wonderful about letting him belay).
